Integration with Broker – TryDrive

We're expanding RentSyst's network of distribution channels with a new broker integration - meet TryDrive!

If you already manage your fleet in RentSyst, you can now push your vehicles, availability and pricing to TryDrive without keeping a second calendar by hand. Here’s who TryDrive is, which markets they bring demand from, and how to switch the channel on.

1. Who is TryDrive?

TryDrive is an online car rental broker that connects rental companies with travellers who are already comparing prices for specific dates and locations — in other words, users at the bottom of the booking funnel, not at the browsing stage.

A few things worth knowing before you connect:

  • Marketplace model. Renters search by pickup location, dates and driver age, then compare price and rental conditions across suppliers side by side. Your offers appear next to — and are compared against — other companies serving the same location.
  • Core markets: the UK and the US. This is where the bulk of TryDrive’s traffic comes from, so the channel is a particularly good fit if you operate in these markets or serve inbound British and American travellers.
  • Secondary markets: Europe and Australia. Demand from these regions is growing and already generates bookings, which makes TryDrive interesting for Mediterranean, Baltic and holiday-destination fleets that rely on inbound tourist traffic.
  • Commission-only terms. TryDrive earns only when you receive a booking — no listing fee, no subscription, no upfront investment to test the channel.
  • You keep control. Prices, availability and rental rules — deposit, driver age, mileage, extras — stay yours to manage inside RentSyst.

2. Benefits of the integration

1. Incremental bookings, no extra marketing spend. TryDrive already has the traffic. Once you’re listed, your cars are exposed to demand you would otherwise have to pay to generate.
2. Access to UK and US travellers. Two of the highest-value outbound markets for car rental — hard and expensive to reach through direct advertising alone.
3. No fixed costs. Listing is free; you pay only on bookings that actually come through.
4. Real-time sync. Fleet, rates, availability and stop-sales are delivered from RentSyst automatically through the Broker API — no duplicate data entry, no manual calendar updates.
5. One place to manage everything. TryDrive reservations land in your RentSyst Orders list alongside your direct bookings, so you keep full visibility over every channel.

3. How to connect to TryDrive

Setting up the integration involves two parts: becoming a TryDrive partner, and enabling the channel inside RentSyst.

Step 1. Apply as a partner on TryDrive
  1. Go to the TryDrive partner page.
  2. Get in contact with the TryDrive team at [email protected], including your company name (note that you work with RentSyst and want an API connection rather than manual booking confirmation).
  3. The TryDrive team will review your application and come back with onboarding details.

💡 Tip: Have your fleet list (vehicle groups, transmission, seating capacity) and your standard rate structure ready before you write — it speeds up onboarding considerably.

Step 2. Enable the channel in RentSyst
  1. Log in to your RentSyst account and go to Settings → Integrations & Agents.
  2. Open the Brokers tab and find TryDrive in the list.
  3. Click Send request to TryDrive.
  4. Once TryDrive approves your listing, the badge turns green — the integration is live and your cars are published on the platform.
Step 3. Publish and verify

Your fleet, locations, rates, availability, rental policies, extras and insurance are delivered to TryDrive automatically through the RentSyst Broker API. Mapping happens on the broker’s side — you don’t need to configure anything manually.

Recommendations:

  1. Run a test search on TryDrive for one of your locations and check that the right vehicles, prices and availability appear.
  2. Create a test booking and confirm it lands correctly in your RentSyst Orders list — right vehicle group, dates, location and rate.
  3. Track channel performance separately using Orders → Filter → Broker source: TryDrive.
  4. Review your rates periodically to stay competitive against the other suppliers listed in the same market.

Summary

If you serve UK or US travellers — or inbound tourist demand in Europe and Australia — TryDrive is a low-risk way to add filled days without increasing your ad budget. Listing is free, you pay only on completed bookings, and connecting through RentSyst turns it into a hands-off extension of the fleet you already run.
